Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, Emily has always had an intrinsic desire to learn and a fascination for other cultures, people and places. She grew up playing sports and went to the University of Denver to play for the Division I Women's Soccer team before completing her BA degree at the University of Colorado Boulder studying Psychology with a Pre-Medicine minor. She continued her studies in Sweden at Uppsala University where she earned a Masters Degree in Medical Science specializing in Global Public Health.

Throughout her undergraduate and graduate years, she lived in Spain, Cambodia and Vietnam, primarily working with local NGO's where her drive to improve the lives of others came to the forefront and created a focused drive in non-profit work.

After returning stateside, she was introduced to the world of WASH through the current Rotary E-Club of WASH President, Heidi Rickels, and has since worked with Rotary District 5450 on their Annual WASH Symposium and on the Young Professionals Board for Freshwater Project International. She’s grateful for being a part of the great work of this club and is looking forward to a continued career in the WASH field.
